A gas main exploded last night at about 22:00 BST in Whitstable, Kent. The blast wave made the houses of the locals “shake”.
The blaze affected the Estuary View Business Park. The firefighters from Kent Fire and the Rescue Service worked together all night and managed to keep the situation under control.
One man needed to be taken to hospital while another one received treatment at the scene.
It is not yet known what caused the explosion and fire. According to BBC, construction workers dealt with the pipes in the area.
Southern Gas Networks declared that the gas main was isolated and the fire extinguished by 02:45.
The roads were closed in the area. The fire service said that this situation can affect local gas suppliers.
